Jonel is an art enthusiast who explores a variety of artistic mediums and techniques. Born into the Kankana-ey tribe of Mankayan, Benguet, he was inspired from a young age y vibrant art and culture of the Cordillera region.

Jonel’s works often draw viewers into the world of Cordillera history, tradition and heritage. Through his paintings, sculptures and mixed media pieces, he seeks to share the rich stories and unique perspectives of his indigenous community. Jonel’s artistic practice is guided by a deep respect for his roots and a desire to preserve and celebrate the art, symbolism and values of the Cordillera people.
