PANAG-ARAMID: Creating Connections Through Art & Heritage

As part of the Tam-awan International Arts Festival 2026, "Panag-aramid" brings together artists from across the Philippines and beyond in a celebration of heritage, identity, creativity, and community.

Held at SM City Baguio, the exhibition gathers diverse artistic voices whose works respond to the festival’s theme and explore the many ways heritage continues to live, evolve, and find expression through contemporary art.

"Panag-aramid"—creating—is more than an exhibition. It is a "panagtitipon", a coming together. It creates a space where artists, cultures, traditions, and communities meet; where stories passed down through generations can converse with new perspectives; and where local heritage can be shared with audiences both near and far.

From traditional influences to contemporary interpretations, the participating works demonstrate that heritage and cultural practices are not something confined to the past. They are what we live, carry, reinterpret, and share.

Every artwork becomes a thread connecting memory and imagination, ancestry and individuality, place and people.

Through this gathering, the Tam-awan International Arts Festival continues its commitment to creating bridges through art—bringing together artists from different regions, backgrounds, and cultures while celebrating the richness of the Philippines and its continuing dialogue with the world.

At the heart of "Panag-aramid" is a simple yet powerful idea:

Heritage is lived.
Art is shared.
Community is connected.

And when artists come together, our stories become bigger than ourselves—woven into a collective tapestry of culture, creativity, and connection.
