“Beauty in Darkness,” an art show that features pen and ink artworks by Joey delas Alas and Duane Lucas Pascua. The artworks encompass dark and morbid undertones. Both artists delved into themes and subjects most people would not dare to undertake. Suffice it to say however, the works were carefully and wonderfully crafted with their years of experience creating pen and ink drawings. Both have differences in their approach and methods but with some common grounds adding another level and variety to art.
Some of the subjects in their series of works may look dark but their meanings have lighter and tones in it. As death leads to rebirth, one would not be able to appreciate light without darkness and vice versa.
